Course: Getting Started with Data Activation in Piwik PRO – In collaboration with Piwik PRO

From Analytics Curious to Analytics Practitioner Piwik PRO, hands-on for marketers who’ve had their hands on the tool before, but never quite got past the basics.

30 September –  You’ve set up a goal or two. Maybe built an audience once, with some help, or a tutorial open in another tab. It worked (probably) but you’re not entirely sure why, and you haven’t touched half the platform since.

That’s a more common starting point than most people admit, and it’s exactly where this course picks up.

We’re not starting from zero, and we’re not starting with a sales pitch for Piwik PRO either. We’re starting with the questions that come up once you’ve used a tool just enough to be dangerous: how do you know your conversion numbers are actually right? How do you go from “we collected this data” to “we did something useful with it”? And which parts of the platform are actually worth your time, versus the parts you can safely ignore?

By the end of the day, you won’t just have had things re-explained. You’ll have rebuilt your confidence by building something real.

In this course, you will learn:

The Piwik Toolkit, Properly: What Analytics, Tag Manager, and Data Activation each actually do, and how they connect — filling in the gaps that self-teaching or a rushed onboarding usually leaves behind.

Reading the Signal, Not Just the Number: How to tell whether a conversion count is trustworthy — the small setup mistakes that quietly double-count or lose conversions, and the checks that catch them before a client or colleague does.

Confident Audience-Building: Rebuilding a behavioral audience from scratch, this time understanding why each choice matters — the difference between a good audience and a vague one, and how to troubleshoot when it isn’t working.

From Audience to Action: Turning that audience into something live: a personalized on-site message, using Piwik’s Funnel Recovery feature, without needing to write code or brief a developer.

Your Analytics Practitioner Toolkit: A simple framework you can take back to your own site or your next project — three questions to ask before trusting a metric, and one Data Activation use case you’re ready to try this week.

Operations & Consulting Lead

Brand Leadership Community

Emelie Persson is Operations & Consulting Lead at BLC Consultancy, where she keeps the delivery engine of Brand Leadership Community’s advisory work running, coordinating active consulting engagements, managing financial administration and cash flow oversight, and acting as the connective tissue between the consulting and community sides of the business. Her path into this work started in retail: after years at Elgiganten, she trained as a Digital Analytics Specialist at IHM Business School and ran her own consultancy, EM IN TECH, focused on data-driven strategy before joining BLC.

Beyond project coordination, Emelie leads operations for BLC’s events, including MeasureCamp Copenhagen, managing volunteer teams and on-the-ground logistics, and owns the consultancy’s web presence and outbound communication. She brings a hands-on, practitioner’s approach to both operations and analytics: someone who has built dashboards and tracking plans herself, and who is equally comfortable keeping a consulting engagement on schedule as she is building an audience in Piwik PRO.

Designed For:

This masterclass is specifically designed for those striving to bridge the gap between agency operations and sustainable vendor profitability.

Is this for you?

  • The Strategist (Agency Founders, CEOs, CFO, CCO, COO & Directors): You don’t need to be managing the tech daily. You will learn to audit your agency’s vendor relationships, structure new revenue models, and understand exactly where money is being left on the table.
  • The Builder (Heads of Analytics & Tech Leads): You will learn to standardize your vendor onboarding workflows and future-proof your tech stack management to ensure the time your team spends maintaining certifications equals revenue earned.
  • The Partner Manager: Get an understanding setting up agreements, and day to day operations and communications with Vendors.

Technical Scope:

  • No deep coding or technical implementation experience required. We focus on the commercial architecture, taxonomy, and partnership logic.
  • Tool-Agnostic: Whether your agency implements CMS platforms like Shopify, e-commerce systems, or martech tools like Braze, the principles are universally transferable.

Company Type:

  • Digital Agencies, Web Development Agencies, and MarTech Consultancies.
  • Firms managing multiple third-party tech vendors on behalf of their brand clients.

Session Structure

  1. Building a Trustworthy Tracking Foundation Master the architecture behind goals and conversions that you can actually rely on. We move from guessing whether your numbers are right — and quietly hoping nobody asks — to a clean, repeatable framework for diagnosing duplicate, missing, or mismatched conversions before anyone else spots them.
  2. From Raw Data to a Real Audience A hands-on walkthrough of building your first properly-reasoned audience in Piwik PRO. We’ll map out what separates a vague audience from one that actually holds up — behaviour, timing, and exclusions — and you’ll build one from scratch, understanding every choice along the way.
  3. Turning Data Into Action Where tracking becomes something visible. We’ll use Piwik’s Funnel Recovery feature to turn a funnel drop-off directly into a live on-site campaign, and map out where Data Activation earns its place versus where your CRM should simply handle it — with practical use cases, common pitfalls, and a live exercise applying the framework to your own site.

Every attendee leaves with a Piwik Tracking Audit Checklist to catch tracking errors before they cost you credibility, and one Data Activation use case, sketched and ready to build, for the week after the course.
